We Need you this Weekend!  June 21-23

The Alumni Work Weekend is here already!

We need carpenters, electricians and plumbers.  We need you!  Our goal is to have as many alumni join us for a work weekend on June 21-23 at Storer to help the staff get ready for opening day.  Please make every effort to attend and help out.  All meals are provided!
We have a large list of projects, large and small to be completed before camp opens for the 2013 Summer Season. Spend a day or a weekend with your alumni friends !  If you plan to attend, please contact Tim Roche :

Weekend Warriors

The Alumni Weekend Warriors have been hard at work for the last few months, completing many projects including the new chapel, repairing broken water lines-special thanks to Steve Ciampa- installing a new deck on the Director’s Cottage, and countless other repairs to buildings and equipment. There is always lots to do and you are welcomed to join in the fun on any weekend between now and Camp Opening in July.

As you know Tim Roche leads us with the Weekend Warriors and has put together a work schedule. If you are able to provide time to assist with any of these projects please let Tim know. Even if you can only give a few hours, the time you spend helps in so many ways. The June schedule is here.

Refrigerators –  In good working order. Please, no old vintage stuff.  We need  (5).

 

Lawn Mowers-  In good working order.

 

Wood Chipper-  In good working order.

 

Chain Saws-  In good working order. We need (5).

2013 Camp Staff Alumni Reunion

Remember the feeling you got while driving to camp when the car suddenly left the paved road and onto the dirt road leading to the entrance?  Every camp had it!  In just a few short weeks, we the Camp Staff Alumni will experience that feeling all over again and spend a weekend reliving memories of our summers spent as a Camp Staff Member. Whether you worked at Adams Pond Camp, Wild Goose Camp, Camp Quinipoxett, Loon Pond Camp, Indian Pond Scout Camp, Camp Sachem or Parker Mountain. As well as Camp Staff members from camps around the world.   You are invited to share this special weekend with old friends.

 

Your registration fee includes Saturday Lunch, our traditional Steak & Lobster Banquet Dinner, Evening Campfire and post campfire snacks, Sunday “coffee and donuts” before you head home, a commemorative Staff Alumni Reunion T-shirt and overnight accommodations (camp tents) for those who wish to stay.

Activities will include tours of camp, waterfront activities & boating, use of the rifle range and new alumni built Archery Range, the exciting Copes program,  Nature, Scoutcraft and the new alumni built  Handicraft lodge, fishing,  group pictures, and more.

 

We will also be presenting the annual Tony Toto Spirit Awards.

Camp Staff Alumni William “Billy” Sullivan will be this year’s alumni honoree along with one member of the 2013 Storer Camp Staff .

The concept of a Camp Staff Alumni Association began late summer 2007 and, since that time, more than 200 alumni have joined the Association. The beginning years involved defining the organization, establishing roles and responsibilities, having successful projects and reunions, and setting up the website and financial management. Most importantly, it involved building a positive and credible relationship with Boston Minuteman Council and the current camp staff. Together, we did it!


Please do not hesitate to contact a Board member to share ideas and suggestions, volunteer, or make a donation.
Board members include Bruce Colvin (chairman), Nick Cortese (Council interface), Dom Ilacqua (membership), John Collins (Website), Bill Boylan (Finance Committee), Tony Morganelli and Larry Kelly(Reunion Committee), Tim Roche (Work Weekend Committee – the “Warriors”), and Greg Boyd.  Board members also include the alumni Scoutmaster representing each decade, and volunteers for that role are needed.
